VICTORIA ROVER SCOUT CREW CREW LOGBOOK 1999-2000 |
|
Date: Wellington Anniversary Weekend 2000.
Present: Our Crew and a large number of extras.
What Happened:
We came, we had fun, we came and we left.
On Friday night we set out to Tatum Estate for the annual mini moot. Expecting the best we got it and with our turnout who could complain. On Saturday the service projects were completed and unfortunately some of us showed up late and missed out on these, but I believe that some gravel was shifted, some rocks were painted and the museum was tidied up a little bit.
Saturday night saw a large amount of OO’s beer get drunk, and a campfire was enjoyed by most. A lot of the old-school rover song were brought to life by older rovers and the 45mins of "Always look on the bright side of life", composed mainly by myself, Phil and Titch, annoyed everyone until the rain closed us down.
Sunday morning saw the presentation of the Helen Thomas Memorial Trophy to the Tatum Scout Museum, and the rest of the day was traditional in that it was sports day. The volleyball tournament was a stunner and some how Richmond ended up winning even though they don’t exist. Who knows how they beat us being that we a such a big crew. Big enough to enter two volley ball teams.
Off to the pool for a swim of sorts, then tug of war, or tug of courier van as it were. A bit of rounders, then dinner.
At this point we invested three new members to the crew, welcome Katy, Lisa, and Toni, and then went on to dress up for the inaugural Mr. And Mrs. Mini Moot. Ox entered as Victoria, and took it out for us, (She’s my girl), unfortunately we could not carry out Mr. Mini moot for another year.
Monday came and we slowly cleared out and went home having enjoyed an energetic and extremely tiring weekend.
Thanks goes out to MOB who organised mini moot this year.
Cheers Guys,
