VICTORIA ROVER SCOUT CREW

Crew History

Victoria Rover Crew started of it’s life on the 18th of June 1975 as 1st Wellington East Rover Crew, we continued as this for a few years and in 1977 we changed our name to Victoria, due to things going wrong our name was not officially changed until October 1983. To start with the Crew used to meet in peoples houses around Mount Victoria and this is why the name was changed to Victoria Rover Crew.

We have met at many different venues over the years, from the Scout Hall in Seatoun to the Port Nicolson Scout Hall where we had our own room. At some point we changed Districts and became part of Bays District, this was due to the merger of the Wellington East and Wellington South Districts.

In 1997, we moved to our current meeting place, which is Scarf Hall in Thorndon and changed districts again because of this. We are now part of the Wellington West District.

The Crew at present has 19 members, this includes associate, full members and squires, we are very active and hope to continue being so for a long time yet, say at least another 25 years.
