VICTORIA ROVER SCOUT CREW
CREW LOGBOOK 1999-2000

Rangitane Car Rally:

Date: 4 March 2000.

Present: Dan, Dave, Michelle, Sheryl, Katy, Cathy.

What Happened:

We decided to go away for the weekend and have a bit of fun in Wanganui but before we got there we spent Friday night in Palmerston North. For us being the young ones of the crew the rover buzz was not really a big thing so we were just out to have some fun. After visiting people and stopping in Bulls where everything was eat-a-Bull, for lunch, we made it to Scoutlands bang on time and found the area cub day was on.

The car rally began with two cars entered by us and one car and a motorbike entered by Rangitane area. We had no map and really no idea, so just followed the directions and forgot about collecting the stuff. When we were stuck in who knows where and the next clue said, "now break the main road into blocks and answer these questions" and we all went, "how the …. Do we get to the main road".

Not surprisingly we lost this car rally and the locals won, but never mind lets mission it to New Plymouth for the rugby. After a bit of musical chairs and some sorting out the angry car went home to Wellington and the fun car went to New Plymouth for the Hurricanes / Reds game. And they won.

And then we decided to go home and realised that we didn’t know which way that was, but finally made it out of the Naki, and back into civilisation at about 2am on Sunday morning.

Not a bad effort on about two hours sleep.

A primo weekend and no complaints at all. Heaps of fun and thanks must go to Stewart Rover Crew for inviting us. Its just a shame that they forgot to invite any one else to their area car rally.
