For a nominal charge of $20 we promised a mystery trip around Wellington. Fish and I, Tony, organised the day. We got up pretty late after a hard night at Brookfield. Sam and I went and picked up the rental van and some Macs. Back to Brookfield, we loaded up the van and the mighty falcon with everyone and not to forget 12 Dozen cans of Kiwi Draught – bought cheap.

First we went indoor rock-climbing and Dan went away sick. After rock-climbing we were allowed to hook into the beer which was surprisingly good…considering. Next over the hill to Aotea lagoon for a ride on the model train which was all good fun.

Next we piled up to Shane & Judes house for a game of patonk and a barbecue for lunch. We had a great meal and made a bit of a mess of the patonk court, empty cans and all. We cleaned up a bit and piled back into the van and falcon and headed to a bottle store for those who didn’t drink. Stopped at the Tawa driving range and hit the shit out of lots of defenceless white balls for a laugh.

It was getting late in the day and we had to drop a couple of activities off the tour bit being a mystery tour no one but the organisers knew the difference. With the booze starting to take its toll on some participants we went up to a empty building site and used the falcon in a stop start race. We sent the girls back to Brookfield and the hard men went to the Bristol for some beer. Back out to Brookfield for some dinner and some more drinking and some depravity. A great day had by all involved and a big success, chances are there will be another next year.
